Drawn from observation, modelling and painted in the studio with Bas-relief style and trompe-l’oeil techniques creating textures and tonal qualities to enhance depth within the composition. The fence is built onto the surface with wire interlocking each picket. The rugged wooden frame enhances the textures within the composition.

The cherry tree leaves are in relief, each being made and painted from direct observation of actual leaves. The tree trunk and background is painted using acrylic paint, also painted from observation.
