This artwork is titled 'Hands that Hold.' It is a mixed media artwork. It illustrates women of the Yoruba descent suspended between labour and legacy. Their bodies carry the visible and invisible weight of inheritance and labour. It reflects the generational cultural identity and heritage of our women, whose hands preserve culture, sustain communities, and hold histories often left undocumented. The domestic objects in this work function as symbols of sustenance, inheritance, and collective memory.
