Christine Jones

Statement

My name is Christine Jones and I live in Aunsby, Lincolnshire.  I am a self taught artist.

I paint, quite simply, for the joy and peace of it.

For me, painting is very much feeling based and I find inspiration everywhere - from everyday familiar objects to the landscape and the life within it.

I will often build up layers and overpaint until I get the painting to a place where I am happy to leave it.

Colours are especially important and I love the vibrancy that comes with ink and acrylics.

Biography

Christine Jones is a self taught artist.

When she retired,  she joined a local art group and since then, has painted daily, in a converted building in her garden.

She has exhibited at the Wisbech and Carre Galleries and has undertaken commissions.

Christine is inspired by all things familiar including everyday objects, the landscape, and nature.  She interprets these in her own unique way in her colourful paintings, mixed media, fabric and clay work.

For her, painting is a time of peace, reflection, colour and imagination and she hopes this is evident in her work.
